An interview with Philippe CASEAU,
Deputy General Manager at CAP VI
In what context did you organize the training sessions you are going to tell us about ?
Philippe Caseau : We needed to train newcomers to the company. Some were on our French site in Lyon, others in England. (We were bought out at the end of 2019 by an English group. Our English colleagues work remotely on our M3 ERP that we implemented with Authentic in 2014). The goal was to allow all these newcomers to benefit not from a training given by their colleagues but to receive a more academic vision.
Why did you choose to outsource training on M3 ?
Philippe Caseau : When one user trains another, he explains his own understanding of the system. He has often found his tricks, his way of understanding and using the system, but it is not necessarily the ideal way. By bringing together the points of view of a key user and the Authentic trainer, we wanted to ensure the best possible training.
How was the training content built ?
Philippe Caseau : Before the training, we had a meeting with Authentic’s Training Manager. It just so happens that she is the same trainer who had given the trainings in 2014 when we went live on M3. So she knew our environment very well. With a key user, she completely reviewed the training materials and updated them. The result was a turnkey training course that was both academic and practical.
What type of profiles was the training intended for ?
Philippe Caseau : To end users, over 2 days. One group was trained remotely, the other group in person in Lyon.
What did you think of these trainings ?
Philippe Caseau : We are very satisfied. Next time we welcome new collaborators, we will most probably call on Authentic again to train them.
Training is a profession. There is a real added value in having an external trainer conduct the training and not our internal users.
“…a turnkey training course that was both academic and practical”
